Reasons to Consider Purchasing a Home in Fairview
Where is Fairview located, most people ask?! Well… it is Kitsilano’s neighbour, nestled between Granville St & Cambie St, extending from 16th Ave to 6th Ave.
This neighbourhood offers a delightful mix of urban convenient and serene residential areas. I personally like to describe it as the the more central Kitsilano, with continuous development potential. My reasoning for this is because it includes important landmarks such as Vancouver General Hospital, City Hall, and the hottest transit hub in the city – the intersection of Cambie St and Broadway. In recent years this neighbourhood has gained popularity, and I can only imagine its future potential.
Fairview is split into two areas, “Fairview Slopes” & “Fairview.” Both locations have their charms, but as indicated in the title, homes in Fairview Slopes have arguably the best, unobstructed views of downtown Vancouver, North Shore mountains, and water. Importantly, you are also only steps away from the Vancouver Seawall, dog parks, running spots and downtown, what a bonus! Nestled between the bustling downtown core and picturesque False Creek, Fairview appeals to a diverse range of residents, making it a sought-after place to call home.
Now my opinion may be biased, since this is also the neighbourhood I live in, but let me explain why you shouldn’t omit this neighbourhood for your real estate purchase!
Is Fairview going to be the “new” main street?!
I’d like to think so! Iconic restaurants are opening all over the Cambie Corridor, and I’d think that all of these strategic businesses know that potential of this area is limitless. Within the last couple of months alone, we have welcomed: elio volpe, The Greek, Oakberry, Pho & Roll. I am not one to spread rumours, but I have heard of The Keefer Bar coming soon aswell…
Transportation access
Three words – BROADWAY MILLENNIUM LINE. Fairview is in the middle of Vancouver, and is already an easy commute to all the popular neighbourhoods. But with access to the Broadway Millennium Line, this already central hub is about to get even more convenient. Buy by the trains, always!
Broadway development plans
With the gained popularity of this neighbourhood, there are many new developments and an entire Broadway Plan that has been approved by the city. With the combination of convenience and housing opportunities, this neighbourhood is getting set up for an even more amazing future.
Housing opportunities and neighbourhood
Housing options in Fairview are vast, catering to different lifestyles and preferences. This neighbourhood offers a mix of single-family homes, townhouses, and condominiums. Many of the stratified condominiums in Fairview are home to proud longterm owners, hospital employees, young couples and families.
Since the BC Government has changed rental restrictions, this once notoriously restricted neighbourhood is no longer! This has proved huge opportunities for individuals looking for investment properties, which is only another reason why this neighbourhood should be considered.
The moral of this blog, is that I wouldn’t sleep on this neighbourhood whether you are considering an investment property, residential home or an apartment in a community focused area. The neighbourhood’s accessibility and proximity to amenities already make it a desirable place to live and – and I am excited by whats next!
